How it works

Claude Code makes plenty you’re meant to look at. Charts and pages land in a scratchpad in /tmp, Chrome screenshots in a folder of their own, artifacts behind a link… Detego gathers them in one place, right above the terminal you’re already typing in.

01 · ARRIVES

Claude saves an image. The notch lights up.

The moment Claude Code writes a screenshot, chart, page or PDF, the notch notifies you with a count (or pulse) and glows in a familiar orange.

02 · OPENS

Hover over the notch to open it.

Or press ⌥ Space from anywhere. The shelf drops down over whatever you're doing.

Your terminal stays upfront, so you can keep typing.

03 · ORGANISED

Sorted by session, then by prompt.

Sessions are named by folder, branch and start time. Inside each one, collected items are organised under the prompt that made them, so you always know which request an item belongs to.

04 · PREVIEW

Click, then Space to Quick Look.

It works the way Finder does. Arrow keys move between items and a double-click opens the file in its app.

05 · DRAG OUT

Drag it wherever it's needed.

Drop a thumbnail on the terminal and its path is pasted as the prompt. Drop it anywhere else and the file goes with it. Right-click for Reveal in Finder, Copy Path, Copy Image and more.

06 · LAYOUTS

Pick between a rail or stack.

The session rail lists sessions beside their items. Turn stacks puts every prompt in one strip as a deck, newest first. Switch between them in Settings.

07 · ANY DISPLAY

No notch? Use the edge.

On a display without a notch, a visible pill sits on one of the edges and glows when something arrives. Hover over it and the same familiar shelf appears.

Detego watches the folders and session logs Claude Code saves its work in, and shows the images, pages and PDFs a terminal can't display. Text output stays out, since your terminal already shows it.

Questions.

Do I need a Mac with a notch?

No. On a display without one, the shelf hangs from a side edge you can rest the pointer on, marked by a thin line of light. If neither side is free, it hangs from a small tab at the top instead. ⌥Space works everywhere.

Will it take focus from my terminal?

No. Detego never becomes the active app, so the terminal keeps the keyboard while the shelf is open. Keep typing your next prompt while you look.

What does it pick up?

Files Claude writes in its scratchpad, images it reads, screenshots from Claude in Chrome, the Artifacts it publishes, and any folders you add in Settings. Plain text output stays out, since your terminal already shows it.

Does anything leave my Mac?

Your prompts, files and paths never do, and there are no analytics. Detego talks to our licence server only when you start the trial, activate or deactivate a licence, or check for updates, and sends only the licence key, an anonymous ID for the Mac, the Mac's name and the app version. The privacy policy has the details.

What can I change in Settings?

The shortcut, hover, the layout, how new items are signalled, how long items are kept, the display style, which file types appear, and extra folders to watch.

What happens when the trial ends?

The shelf stops showing new items until you add a licence. Detego keeps collecting in the meantime, so entering a key brings everything back.

How do I move my licence to a new Mac?

On the old Mac, click Deactivate in Detego's Settings › Licence, then activate the new one. If the old Mac is gone, remove it on the manage page instead. Need more Macs than you bought? Add one there for $10.

I lost my licence key.

Enter the email address you bought Detego with on the lost key page and we'll send every key bought with it.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within 30 days of buying, no questions asked. Ask at paddle.net or email [email protected]. A refunded licence stops working on each Mac the next time Detego checks in. The terms have the details.
